The Pittsburgh Knights’ “Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds” (“PUBG”) squad took second place last weekend at Dreamhack Austin. This was the team’s first appearance at a LAN competition in North America. The competition called PUBG Showdown hosted 16 teams from around the world who competed for their slice of the $100,000 prize pool. At the end of the two-day finale in Austin, Texas, the Knights were bested only by Faze Clan who took the first place honors.

Over the first several matches of the weekend that consisted of 12 matches, the Knights hovered around the middle of the pack. They found themselves around eighth and ninth place. The squad improved as the competition progressed. The foursome consisting of Dylan “Krama” Catalano, Carl “Draedon” Birgersson, Can “Texqs” Ozdemir and led by captain Jace “Voxsic” Patras closed out Saturday night with their first and only Chicken Dinner win of the competition.
