Stars

aaronrodgers_12272011Aaron Rodgers - On Christmas night during championship week, A-Rod2 delivered.  The Super Bowl MVP and most likely NFL regular season MVP, passed for 283 yards and 5 TDs.  He was almost perfect on the night with 21 completions on 29 passes.  If you survived his blunder last week, he won you a championship this week.

Tom Brady - He may have scored a few more fantasy points than A-Rod2 this week, but he's not getting the top spot on my list for his 1 yard TD plunges that put him over.  Brady was lousy for the entire first half against the Dolphins before coming to life and leading a comeback.  Enjoy the passing yards and points now Tom, you won't be facing the pushover AFC east in playoffs.

Matthew Stafford - Once again another HUGE day for Stafford who has clearly got his second wind after a shaky few games after the bye week.  His 373 yards and 3 TD passes lead the Detroit Lions into the playoffs.

Cam Newton - It wasn't exactly a memorable passing day for Newton, although he DID break the single season passing record for rookies, but his 3 TD passes to go along with his 49 yard TD run, made for a monster fantasy performance.

Drew Brees -  Another record breaker this week was Brees.  He broke Dan Marino's single season passing yardage record with his 307 passing day on Monday night.  His 4 TD passes most likely helped his fantasy owners enjoy the big night as well.

Black Holes

Adrian Peterson - This sucks.  There's really no other way to say it.  The best RB in football tore his ACL and MCL in a meaningless game (to him and the Vikings) on Christmas Eve and his Week One status for 2012 is in doubt.  Devastating injury to a great RB and an even better guy.  My prayers go out to him for a speedy recovery.

Tony Romo - I REALLY hope your season didn't ride on Romo this week.  After 2 incompletions, Romo-licious came out of the game with a hand injury.  However, it couldn't be that bad as he is expected to play this week.  Romo owners, I've been there, it hurts.

Tim Tebow - Someone who didn't have a lousy game due to an injury was Tim Tebow.  In what was easily the worst game of his NFL career, Tebow completed less than 50% of his passes and was picked off 4 times!  Shocking for a guy that doesn't typically turn the ball over that much.  The Broncos now need a win against Kyle Orton and the Chiefs to get into the playoffs.

Joe Flacco - I don't know what it is about the Browns, but Flacco, for whatever reason, does terrible against them.  Just 11 of 24 for 132 yards and 2 TDs and 1 INT.  How can he look so good some times and so lousy at others.

Eli Manning - Its funny how I don't hear anyone busting Eli's butt for completing way less than half his passes and completing just 9 and still winning.  Eli was 9 of 27, but for 225 yards and a TD.  Mostly thanks to a 99 yard TD pass to Victor Cruz.
