Ron Borges was suspicious from the start about Tom Brady's new and very team-friendly contract. Now he is reporting that while the contract is cap friendly for the Patriots, Brady is not giving away as much as was previously believed.

As the Herald pointed out early this morning, the money is in the details and that’s proving devilish for those who portrayed Tom Brady as Mother Teresa.
While it is true that Brady did a “cap friendly’’ three-year contract extension that effectively saved his team $15 million under what is perceived to be a flat cap the next two years he didn’t do it for charity. He did it for what amounted to a $30 million bonus that upped his guaranteed money from the $30 million left on his old deal to $57 million.
That may be seen as a charitable act by some but it seems like a hard-eyed business deal to sources familiar with the wording of the new extension, which runs through 2017.
