Pitt made it official today by announcing its 2013 football schedule and that includes, as has been reported, a season-opening game against Florida State on Labor Day (Sept. 2) night at Heinz Field. The game also will serve as Pitt's first in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
To make room for Florida State on Labor Day, Pitt dropped Villanova, its previous first opponent, and added Old Dominion in a game that will be played Oct. 19.
Old Dominion was 11-2 last season and advanced to the quarter-finals of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs, where it squandered a 14-point lead after three quarters and lost to Georgia Southern, 49-35.
