20120808_internettrouble_photocom94979056_150Among the many items on the American Bar Association's annual meeting agenda coming up is a look at recommendations about use of new technologies ... including social media such as Twitter and Facebook.

Robert J. Ambrogi at Law Technology News offers 10 tips for keeping yourself out of trouble while the ABA deliberations roll forward ... for example, this observation in Tip No.9:

"You will not find anything in the ABA Model Rules or your own state's ethical rules about competence in technology. Yet it only makes sense: The best way to stay out of trouble with any medium is to understand how it works. If you are uneducated about technology and social media, you are more susceptible to tripping up."
