Buying local is one of the most important things you can do to help cut down on your purchases carbon footprint. And this weekend the "I Made It Market" wants to help you do just that. This afternoon they will be hanging with WYEP’s Summer Music Festival at Schenley Plaza from 4 p.m. till whenever. So grab a blanket, do a little shopping, a bit of fun and a free concert at 6.

And if you miss the Friday fun you can head over to Bakery Square on Sunday afternoon for the 2nd Annual Sunday Marketplace. Once a month the marketplace will feature I Made It! Market artists along with Grow Pittsburgh & Farm to Table vendors.  Live music and free parking and local things for local folk ... nice way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon in the Burgh. Don't forget to stop by Creative Reuse Pittsburgh and Construction Junction while you're in the East End. No way to be greener!

Just a reminder - Go see "Brave" at the SouthSide Works Cinema and bring a reusuable totebag full of nonperishables and help the Pittsburgh Food Bank and some of our neighbors in need. Check with the Pittsburgh Totebag Project for more info.

Saturday there is an e-Wast recycling event out at the Mall at Robinson, 10am to 2pm and are rain or shine in the Mall Parking Lot near Dicks Sporting Goods. Check out the list of acceptable items and the event flyer.
