NBC announces its fall 2017 TV schedule

Sunday, 14 May 2017 12:30 PM Written by

NBC announced its fall schedule via press release today.

Weirdest item: NBC canceled "Timeless" last week and then reversed course late Friday and renewed it, but it may not be back until 2018.

"This is Us" moves to 9 p.m. Thursday with the "Will & Grace" revival and "Great News" as lead-ins.

Two spin-offs, "Chicago Justice" and "The Blacklist: Redemption," aren't mentioned in NBC's release, although NBC chieftan Robert Greenblatt said  "Chicago Justice" may not be completely dead as it is in consideration for midseason.

"Trial & Error" is missing, too, but Greenblatt said talks with producer Warner Bros. are ongoing and it could still return at midseason.

Just don’t compare it to “Dancing with the Stars.” When that show was mentioned at a recent NBC press conference, Ms. Lopez shut down the chatter of competition with “Dancing with the Stars” with a quick, “No. Next.”

victorian slum house

Back in 2002 PBS aired the docu-series “Frontier House,” featuring contemporary folks living as people did in America’s frontier times. A few years before there was “The 1900 House” and a few years after PBS aired “Manor House.”

For its latest living history series, PBS gets down and dirty with a British import set in London’s East End between 1860 and 1900 in “Victorian Slum House” (8 p.m Tuesday, WQED-TV).
