BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- I watched Fox's kept-under-wraps-except-for-all-the-Internet-leaks "Fringe" last night. My reaction? Meh. Josh Jackson's acting is pretty awful (he's also given clunky dialogue and a character who's in a bad mood the whole pilot). BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- PBS's "NOVA" will air "The Bible's Buried Secrets" this fall and the special seems likely to stir up some viewers who prefer their religion with blinders on.

The two-hour program reveals new historical research about the origins of the ancient Israelites, the evolution of their belief in one God and the creation of the Bible. Some of what it reveals may force some Christians to re-evaluate the Bible, particularly those who take all of it literally. Panelists discussing the show were asked if the program will change the embedded beliefs of people who don't understand or appreciate science.
