Q: Will Steve Higgins return to Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show”?
-ANN, PITTSBURGH
Rob: Steve Higgins is still the announcer at the top of every “Tonight Show.” The show is currently abiding by social distancing protocols, so the on-set crew is limited until they can move into the next phase of production.
Q: What happened to "Lights Out" with David Spade on Comedy Central? Is it coming back, or it is gone for good due to the Pandemic?
-JOE MOORE VIA EMAIL
Rob: “Lights Out” was canceled during the pandemic and won’t be back. But I wouldn’t blame the pandemic for the show’s cancellation. If the show had been successful before the pandemic, it would have been back.
Q: On the weekends, some of the stations reverse the times of the local and national news programs, with the local on at 6:30 and the national at 6:00. Curious about the reason for this. Thanks!
-SHARON, REGENT SQUARE
Rob: WTAE-TV does air national news at 6 and local news at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. KDKA-TV arranges its schedule this way on Sunday only.
My best guess is it’s an effort to change it up from what a rival or rivals may air at the same time. I put the question to KDKA-TV news director Kathy Hostetter and WTAE-TV news director Jim Parsons but neither one responded.
Q: Can you find out why John Wehner is not broadcasting any pirates games lately. They have Michael McKenry doing play by play now.
-ROSEANN VIA EMAIL
Rob: Per AT&T SportsNet, Wehner was on a scheduled V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N.
