TV Q&A: 'Vikings,' 'American Gods,' 'Live with Kelly & Ryan,' a local low-power station

Q: Any idea when “American Gods” will be back on Starz?

-- Peter

Rob: There’s been a lot of behind-the-scenes turmoil on “American Gods” with budget overruns and multiple showrunners coming and going. At this point Starz has not set a premiere date but it should be sometime in 2019.

Q: When will “Vikings” return on History?

-- Evelyn via phone

Rob: It will be back at 9 p.m. Nov. 28.

Q: I would like to know if anyone feels as I do that Kelly talks over Ryan when he has so much more interesting takes on situations, and she always jumps in and interrupts him on “Live with Kelly & Ryan.” Very annoying. How do I voice my opinion to the director of that show?

-- Mary, Hampton

Rob: I have not heard that complaint but I expect now I will probably hear from at least a few viewers who feel similarly to Mary. Recent ratings for the show have been about the same as a year ago at this time (on par is the new “up” in TV).

You can reach out to the show at this address: Live with Kelly & Ryan, 7 Lincoln Square, New York, NY 10023.

Q: I've read that WOSC will be picking up the Decades network that KDKA dropped. Does the station have any plans to increase their signal in the future? It is a very weak signal that I can only pull in when conditions are "just right."
-- Dennis, Somerset

Rob: Last I heard, low-power station WOSC, run by veteran low-power station owner Ron Bruno, had been in discussions with Decades, but there was no signed deal as of yet to return Decades to the Pittsburgh market.

Mr. Bruno said WOSC will get a signal upgrade next year.

WOSC-CD is scheduled to increase its power in the summer of 2019,” Mr. Bruno said. “This time frame is dictated by the FCC and is required for all television stations in the Pittsburgh region who are involved in the repack of the television spectrum.”
