New Year's Eve TV plans

It's New Year's Eve and if you're not plannning to go out reveling, TV has you covered with marathons, countdowns and more.

Syfy airs a marathon of episodes from "The Twilight Zone" beginning at 8 a.m. and continung until 4:30 a.m. Jan. 1.

Bravo offers a marathon of season two episodes of Fox's "The Mindy Project," 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

And, of course, there are the New Year's Eve countdown shows. Even Nickelodoen has one, "TeenNick Top 10: New Year's Eve Countdown" (11 tonight).

Here's what to expect from other networks as 2014 dawns:

FOX celebrates the new year with a star-studded night of entertainment with NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE, airing Tuesday, Dec. 31 (11:00 PM-12:30 AM ETlive; CT/MT/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. Broadcast from the heart of Las Vegas, Mario Lopez will host the evening live from the Vegas Strip. The special will feature show-stopping performances by J. Cole, Krewella, New Politics and Panic! At The Disco from LIGHT Nightclub at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. FOX cameras also will capture the world-famous New Year’s Eve Ball LIVE, as it makes its descent into New York’s Times Square to welcome in 2014.

 

 

CNN: 

Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin Return to Co-Host CNN’s New Year’s Eve Coverage

Live from Times Square Beginning at 9 p.m. ET

                Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin will co-host CNN’s coverage of New Year’s Eve celebrations on Tuesday, Dec. 31, from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. (ET). Back for their 7th consecutive year, Cooper and Griffin will ring in the New Year live from NYC’s Time Square for CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin.”

About the upcoming show, Cooper said “Wait...what? CNN hired her again? For real?” Kathy Griffin was humble as always, “I’m so thrilled Anderson Cooper has agreed to be my assistant once again as I single-handedly host New Year's Eve on CNN for my global adoring audience.”

CNN correspondents will provide reports from celebrations across the country and around the world. Isha Sesay will join Cooper and Griffin from the crowds in Times Square. Brooke Baldwin will be live from New Orleans LA, Susan Hendricks from Nashville, TN and Gary Tuchman will cover the Watermelon Drop in Vincennes, IN.

Viewers who tweet and post on Instagram using the hashtag #CNNNYE or post onFacebook.com/ac360, will have the chance to see their New Year’s Eve message or photos on air. 

Leading up to “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin” will be “All the Best, All the Worst 2013,” an Anderson Cooper 360° special airing at 8 p.m. (ET). The one hour special hosted by Tom Foreman will count down to 2014 by shining a spotlight on the highlights and lowlights of the past twelve months in politics, pop culture, the economy, and entertainment. At 12:30 a.m. (ET), Anderson and Kathy will hand off to Brooke Baldwin who will bring viewers more celebrations as countries ring in the new year..

Fox News Channel: 

FOX NEWS CHANNEL TO PRESENT ALL-AMERICAN NEW YEAR HOSTED BY ELISABETH HASSELBECK AND BILL HEMMER

FOX News Channel (FNC) will present a special New Year’s Eve program, All-American New Year, on December 31, 2013 from 9 PM – 12:30AM/ET. Co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Bill Hemmer will ring in 2014 live from Times Square in New York City and will be joined by FNC’s Kimberly Guilfoyle, Bob Beckel, Ainsley Earhardt and Rick Leventhal. Additionally, FNC’s Griff Jenkins will provide viewers with an inside look at the celebrations taking place in the city.

Originating from Time Square, the program will include an exclusive performance by country music singer Rodney Atkins and will also feature performances by rock band Blues Traveler and Scottish singer and finalist of Britain’s Got Talent Susan Boyle. Additionally, FNC talent and guests will share their New Year’s resolutions with Vine videos to be presented throughout the program.

Viewers will be encouraged to participate in the program by utilizing #foxnews2014 on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. The Fox News Facebook page will also feature an album of the year’s top feel good stories and viewers will be able to vote on their favorite one, which will be announced during the program.  Additionally, foxnews.com will host a New Year’s Eve event page that will provide users with access to multiple live video streams and highlight all content related to the occasion, including the biggest moments of 2013.
