“Well take a look at it and discuss it with our partners and figure out whether we think it needs to be massage, whether we’re in love with it,” he said. “In a perfect world, I’d love to see it on the air in 2014.”
Mr. DeBitetto said the network’s summer 2013 schedule is already locked with the return of “The Glades” and “Longmire.”
He expects a decision on the fate of “Those Who Kill” within a few months. If it gets picked up, production on the series would likely begin in Pittsburgh later this year.
“Those Who Kill” stars Chloe Sevigny (“Big Love,” “Portlandia”) as Pittsburgh police detective Catherine Jensen, who teams with forensic profiler Thomas Schaeffer (James D'Arcy) to solve murders. Ms. Sevigny raved about her experience in Pittsburgh.
a “Portlandia” press conference last week. “It’s my favorite city I’ve been to in so long, well, since Portland, I guess. I am a huge fan. I went all over the place. I walked everywhere, over the bridges. I’m saving stuff in case we go back.”
She explored Shadyside and Lawrenceville but picked Polish Hill as the favorite neighborhood she visited, including a stop a Gooski’s.
“We had a great time, an amazing crew and locations,” she said. “We shot in an old steel mill."
Ms. Sevigny couldn't remember the name but I suggested it might be Carrie Furnace, which she said it was.
"It is so beautiful," she said. "It’s just amazing to be inside that building.”
