BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Pittsburgh CLO executive producer Van Kaplan was here on Friday rehearsing cast members from PBS's "Broadway or Bust," an upcoming docu-series that chronicles a high school theater awards program, but he had to leave for a meeting in New York before today's press conference for the show.
Another Pittsburgh CLOer, education director and choreographer Kiesha Lalama, was on stage with a few of the students featured in "Broadway or Bust" for the show's PBS press conference.

"Broadway or Bust" (Sept. 9, WQED) chronicles The Jimmy Awards, a high school theater competition produced by the CLO and the Nederlanders in New York. The Jimmy Awards (AKA National High School Theater Awards) honor a young and young actor who advance from regional competitions nationwide, including the Gene Kelly Awards in Pittsburgh and the Mancini Awards in Beaver. This will be the first time the four-year-old awards program has been televised.
