Disney Junior targets children ages 2-7 and retains many of the Playhouse Disney hits ("Special Agent Oso," "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and "Imagination Movers" among them). The new programming block will also introduce a new animated series, "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" (pictured above), a spin-off from the animated Disney movie "Peter Pan."

In 2012, Disney Junior will replace SOAPnet, which is being shuttered. Evidently Disney-ABC sees more revenue opportunities in another kids' channel than they do in daytime drama reruns.
