"It's a crisis affecting everyone on the planet," says executive producer Russell T. Davies. "What 'Torchwood' does in its new iteration is take a new concept, an event, and simply drops that information in the middle of all our lives. In the new series, Jack will be rejoined by Gwen (Eve Myles) and new characters played by Bill Pullman (the big bad of the season -- a convicted murderer and pedofile who is put to death -- and lives) and Mekhi Phifer (an arrogant CIA agent).
