Geoff and Maria Muldaur were premiere roots musicians in the 60's as members of the Jim Kweskin Jug Band, a decade before Maria's hit "Midnight At The Oasis."  Both could sing blues and jazz, and after leaving Kweskin in the late 60's, recorded two albums for Reprise--one in 1968 (Pottery Pie) the other in 1972 (Sweet Potatoes).  The term "roots" music didn't yet exist.  But it's what they were doing then.
