WZUM Presents Nina Simone Documentary Friday

Friday, February 9, from 7 to 9 PM, to celebrate Black History Month, WZUM AM-FM, Pittsburgh's 24/7 jazz station, will present the documentary Feelin' Good: The Nina Simone Story (2011).

Produced by the BBC, presented in conjunction with the African-American Public Radio Consortium, it features her daughter Simone exploring the iconic jazz singer-composer-pianist's life and music. .

The documentary repeats on Sunday, February 11 at 1 PM.

Simone (1923-2003)'s pending induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame under the "influences" category has earned considerable notice and acclaim.

WZUM-FM is available locally on 101.1 FM in Pittsburgh and surrounding suburbs well into several adjoining counties. It's available on AM 1550 and, in the Ohio Valley, on 88.1 FM from Bethany WVA. It's available online (also known as the Pittsburgh Jazz Channel). Online options are here.
