On this week's "Believe Your Ears" music podcast, I'll review Grammy-winning vocalist Kurt Elling's new and unconventional homage to the classic tunes by writers who got their start in Manhattan's famous Brill Building, titled 1619 Broadway: The Brill Building Project on Concord Jazz.

To give you a sampler, here's his take on "On Broadway," the tune written by Jerry Lieber, Mike Stoller and Barry Mann, a 1963 hit for the Drifters and again in 1978 for our own George Benson, from a performance in Paris on May 29th.  It's the album's opening track.
